Ebenezer Snr. was born in Burslem and Rachel in Hanley.<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">He had 10 siblings, of which 6 survived childhood and Ebenezer Jnr. was the youngest. According to the 1901 Census, the family lived at 16 Peel Street, Wolstanton and 71 Heaton Terrace Porthill in 1911 according to that year\u2019s Census. In 1911 Ebenezer was working in a pottery as a warehouse boy.<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">We know nothing else about his civilian life. He severed in the army as Gunner Ebenezer Brough 805608, 231st Bde. H.Q., Royal Field Artillery who died age 21 on 5th December 1918.
